Kia India Ties up with Map My India for Navigation Solutions


Korean car giant’s Indian subsidiary Kia India has announced a partnership with Map My India for navigation solutions in the country.

Kia is targeting to provide navigation solutions to drivers in India through Map My India’s mapping platform, ensuring easy access to essential services and amenities.

The platform’s four-wheeler-specific points of interest search, spanning over 450 categories, enables easy discovery of vital services like dealerships and service centers, fuel stations, hospitals, hotels, restaurants, and more, the automaker said in a statement.

Moreover, drivers will enjoy speed limit alerts, real-time incident updates, and voice-guided navigation support while driving, it added.

“Our collaboration with Map My India strengthens our positioning as a tech-forward brand dedicated to providing disruptive experiences to our new-age customers,” PTI quoted Kia India Chief Sales Officer Myung-sik Sohn.

Map My India has come out as one of India’s leading mapping service and platform providers, delivering a plethora of solutions for companies worldwide. The company has previously worked with the likes of Uber, Mercedes-Benz, and Mahindra amongst others.

Additionally, the company also provides IoT, automation, GIS analytics through AI, and country-wide mapping data.

Last month, Kia India announced a landmark in sales, crossing over 400,000 total sales in India. The rise in connected cars – pertaining to the internet-enabled technology embedded in cars – has come amidst a rise in feature-laden cars in India.

With advanced and semi-autonomous technologies taking center stage in the Indian auto market, companies are upgrading their LiDAR, real-time mapping, and Radar capabilities to ensure a seamless and convenient driving experience.

With safety and real-time incident features also gaining the utmost importance, geospatial technologies are taking center stage in newer cars, providing holistic systems and keeping the driver out of danger.
